The Kentucky State Police want you to know about a scam in the Cave City area. Irish travelers have been seen soliciting citizens in all surrounding counties.
Their scams include faulty paint on barns, thin black-topping and driveway sealant with high levels of kerosene, making it disappear after rain.
They even inspect your roof for free but than purposely cause damage and request to fix it.
KSP said that the scam artists use high-pressure sales tactics especially on senior citizens.
If they can’t con you out of your money they might intentionally distract you by arguing while another enters your home and robs you.
KSP said to be on the look-out for these men and look for a utility truck with Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina license plates.
Please contact the state police at 270-782-2010 if you have encountered these men.
