Another prominent Kentucky political figure shares remarks on the state of Medicare in our country.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell claims that while some details of the Democrat version of health care reform remain unknown the final version will likely cost taxpayers a trillion dollars.
The senator says the bill will raise insurance premiums and taxes but it will also put seniors at risk by cutting Medicare.
McConnell believes he knows where these cuts will be made.
"More than $120 billion in Medicare cuts for hospitals that care for seniors, more than $130 billion in cuts to the Medicare Advantage program for seniors, more than $40 billion in cuts to home health agencies, and nearly $8 billion in cuts to Hospice care," says McConnell, (R).
House Democrats say they've reached a Medicare deal that holds the promise of changing payments to reward quality care instead of the sheer volume of tests and procedures.
