If your child is ever abducted, chances are you'll depend on the Amber Alert System for help.
It's a state and nationwide program that helps alert law enforcement, media, and the public, keep a lookout for your child.
Now, Bowling Green Police are adding a new line of defense to the alert system here, asking area businesses volunteers to use their outdoor message boards so you can see Amber Alerts as you're driving by.
The message boards will urge drivers to tune in to local media for the latest information.
Right now, the partnership exists between Bowling Green Police and all businesses in Bowling Green that have message boards.
But Officer Barry Pruitt says it doesn't have to stop there. He encourages businesses in surrounding towns and counties to contact their local law enforcement and volunteer their message boards as well.
