A Hart County man is in jail after trying to burglarize a Horse Cave convenient store.

The Hart County Sheriff's Department says 29-year-old Ira McDaniel, of Canmer, was arrested Saturday morning.

Authorities say McDaniel cut phone lines and damaged property at the IGA Express in Horse Cave.

According to the sheriff's department, McDaniel had been wanted since Friday when authorities attempted to stop him for a traffic violation and he fled on foot.

McDaniel is lodged in the Hart County Jail.
