An old and worn down veterans building in Edmonson County gets a facelift.
This weekend, a dedication was held for the Disabled American Veterans building in Brownsville.
Members of the DAV say the building didn't have any heating or air and the walls had been eaten up by termites.
So this summer, contractors and volunteers started offering up supplies and time to bring the building back to life.
"For all these years, we repaired all we could but it finally got ahead of us. We didn't realize it, but it was ready to fall in on us," said Wiley Willis, commander of the Chapter 32 DAV.
Before the DAV took over the building many years ago, it was originally a car wash.
