Kentucky Senate President David Williams said he’s inviting all state lawmakers to a briefing Friday, March 23, 2007, to talk about the Senate Plan on State Pension Funds.
Williams hopes an impasse on the issue between the Republican-controlled Senate and Democratic-led House, can be broken.
House Speaker Jody Richards said Williams’ invitation is not necessary or appropriate and he does not plan to encourage House members to attend.
The impasse over the pension funds leaves various spending proposals in mid-air, including restoration of building projects Governor Fletcher vetoed last year.
The House and Senate reconvene Monday, March 26, 2007.
