A south central Kentucky institution of higher learning celebrates 70 years of educating the public.
Bowling Green Technical College was originally created to train armed forces personnel, but has evolved to be a leader in education and workforce training in Kentucky.
Friday's celebration commemorated 70 years of providing quality education and training opportunities to business, industry, and the citizens of south central Kentucky.
"Our enrollment in traditional programs is up 32-percent over last fall," said BGTC President Nathan Hodges, "so we're continuing to grow, and we are reaching out to be of service to all of our community."
Bowling Green Technical College has a current enrollment of more than 5,000 students attending classes in 26 specialties at six area campuses: the Transpark Center, the Franklin-Simpson Center, two campuses in Bowling Green, and two campuses in Glasgow.
