Some of the trees lining Scottsville Road are getting a face-lift during Commonwealth Cleanup Week.
Operation P.R.I.D.E. is spearheading the effort to remove the older trees along a section of Scottsville Road in front of Greenwood Mall.
Many of the trees have been there since 1967.
The trees were planted as part of the Highway Beautification Act. However, at the time the area was rural and the trees are now growing into the power lines.
Twenty-six trees will be removed. They'll be replaced by 52 trees that will add more color to the area.
