Simpson County Cocaine Bust Largest in KVE's History

A stop by Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement leads to the largest cocaine seizure in the departments history.

KVE officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding on the night of March 26, 2007, on I-65 in Simpson county. After talking to the driver officers decided to investigate further. While searching the vehicle KVE found approximately 112 pounds of cocaine with a street value over $1.5 million.

Francisco Delacruz, 35,and Humberto Contreras, 36, were arrested and charged with trafficking of illegal narcotics.

Justice and Public Safety Cabinet Secretary General, Norman Arflack, said getting drugs out of our communities is one of the top priorities of this administration.
