A change of venue is considered for a man accused in the death of a U.K. football player. Shane Ragland is awaiting a second trial on charges he shot and killed Trent Digiuro, while Digiuro was celebrating his 21st birthday in 1994.
A defense expert told a Fayette Circuit Judge Thursday, March 29, 2007, that Ragland cannot get a fair trial in Lexington.
Ragland’s attorney, David Broderick of Bowling Green wants the trial moved to Louisville.
The state supreme court ordered a new trial last March based on inadmissible evidence concerning a bullet. The judge did not make a ruling.
Ragland is currently free on a $1 million bond.
