Many Kentucky residents were surprised earlier today to look out their windows and find what they thought was a distant memory. This morning some of us had our first measurable snow in April since 1983. In fact Todd County schools closed this morning after reportedly receiving up to three inches of snow.

State climatologist, Stuart Foster, says with the cold front coming in, it was a reminder that spring hasn't firmly taken hold yet. April isn't the warmest month Kentucky has ever had snow though. Back in 1983 Springfield, Kentucky got five inches of snow in May.
