Weapon Still Missing From Attempted Burger King Robbery

Kentucky State Police are still actively searching for the weapon involved in the attempted robbery of a Bowling Green Burger King.

Police said early morning March 23, 2007, Ronnie Reece was attempting to rob the fast food restaurant, when employees were able to escape and flag down a police officer.

A Bowling Green police officer said Reece leaving Burger King and confronted him and Reece then brandished a weapon and threatened to shoot the officer. The officer shot Reece twice, then Reece ran into the woods where he fell into a 50-foot ravine. He was later pronounced dead at the Medical Center.

KSP has searched the area twice already and will continue to search because they said a surveillance video verifies Reece did have a weapon during the attempted robbery.
