The Chairman of the group that landed the World Equestrian Games for Lexington, Ky., has resigned.
Jim Host said his intent was always to leave the World Games 2010 Foundation after a qualified CEO was selected. Host said that happened when Jack Kelly was hired.
The 16-day competition at the Kentucky Horse Park marks the first time since its inception, the event will be held outside Europe.
The Games were first held in 1990 in Stockholm.
Horse Park officials said more than 300,000 are expected to attend.
