WBKO has learned another inmate has come forward to investigators, claiming Lucas Goodrum confessed to the rape and murder of Katie Autry.
A source close to the case tells WBKO that the inmate reported to investigators that Goodrum approached the inmate in the medical ward of the Warren Co. Regional Jail in a timeframe between late Dec. 2003 and early Jan. 2004. Goodrum, according to the inmate, confessed to raping and then killing Autry.
WKU freshman Katie Autry was raped and set on fire in her dorm room on May 3, 2003. Goodrum's co-defendant Stephen Soules has pleaded guilty to the crime, and is expected to testify at Goodrum's trial in August.
Goodrum's attorney, David Broderick, who was reached at his office on Monday night, maintained his client's innocence.
