Wednesday, the House passed a bill that would put credit card reforms into effect almost immediately.
Democratic Representative Carolyn Maloney -- a bill sponsor -- says it would stop credit card companies from continuing to raise interest rates and card fees-- before a credit card reform law signed by the president goes into effect.
The bill shifts the effective date from late February of next year to the first of next month.
The bill still has to pass the Senate.
