The President will attend memorial service for those killed at Thursday's mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas.
White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs said a service will be scheduled at the convenience of the families who lost loved ones during one of the largest mass shooting on a military base.
Thirteen people were killed and 30 others injured in the shooting rampage at the Texas Army Post on Thursday.
Gibbs says a service has not yet been scheduled.
"I'm told that not all of the notifications have yet been completed. when that is done -- and there's -- we have an understanding of when it is best for the families, the president will work his schedule around what's best for those families," said Gibbs.
An Army Spokeswoman says suspected shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan had been scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan to counsel soldiers suffering from combat stress.
