The son of a state lawmaker is sentenced after being convicted of killing a pedestrian while driving drunk in 2005.
Harrison Yonts has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Yonts will have to serve at least 17 years of his sentence, before he is eligible for parole.
He was convicted in February 2007, on the wanton murder of 62-year-old Nadia Shaheen, a graduate student at Murray State University.
He was also found guilty of drunken driving, leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence.
Yonts is the son of State Representative Brent Yonts of Greenville, Ky.
