Federal Safety Investigators make what seems to be an obvious conclusion after an investigation of a deadly Kentucky plane crash: Air traffic controllers need more time off between work shifts.
On April 10, 2007, the National Transportation Safety Board issued two safety recommendation letters designed to reduce fatigue and improve vigilance of controllers.
The recommendations were based on its ongoing investigation of the Comair crash that killed 49 people on take-off from Lexington, Ky., last August of 2006.
The board also looked into the causes of ten earlier crashes or close calls.
