Bowling Green ophthalmologist, Rand Paul, has climbed 14 points in the most recent poll, and has raised more money than his Republican primary opponent, Kentucky Secretary of State, Trey Grayson.
Paul asked for and was granted a meeting with McConnell. Paul says they met in a hangar in Louisville yesterday. Paul also says they emphasized their areas of agreement.
"I think he's been a good leader in opposing a lot of the spending the Democrats are pushing through," said Paul, "opposing the health care plan with government taking over health care. I think he's been a very good leader in opposing these things."
But Paul adds he doesn't believe Republicans are always right or Democrats are always wrong. He says he sees things based on the rightness or wrongness of the issue.
