Despite tough times, the Governor brought some good news with him on his visit to our area.
Today, Governor Beshear announced funding for Munfordville's "Connecting our Community" project, aimed at restoring and revitalizing the city's sidewalks.
Beshear says nearly $400,000 in federal monies will be available for the project.
The Governor tells WBKO he's happy to be able to continue investing in local communities across the Bluegrass.
"Even in these tough economic times, it's really important that we continue to invest in our downtown communities. Small towns are really the foundation of Kentucky's society."
The federal funds will be split into two projects.
One will go to sidewalk repair and light fixture installations, and the other project will improve sidewalks and foot traffic between downtown Munfordville and the elementary school.
