A vision of expansion has been in the eyes of members of Holy Trinity Lutheran church for five years now.

On April 14, 2007, they were able to see their vision carried out in the ribbon cutting event for their new facility.

"What we wanted to do first of all is be able to expand the opportunity, to be able to reach out into the community, to offer classes and to offer educational opportunity to different things in which we could bring that word of god out into the community," Pastor Robert Weldon said.

Parents at the ribbon cutting were excited the school is now able to expand it's educational programs from a preschool through sixth grade school all the way up to eighth grade.

"Having the opportunity to have Christian growth here and he can take that with him when he goes to public school," mother Kristin McGuinness said.

One student said he has a lot to be thankful for now that Holy Trinity has expanded.

"I would like to thanks God for giving us a brand new building," said second grader Jack McGuinness.

Weldon hopes this expansion will benefit everyone in the Bowling Green community.

"(It is great) to be able to be here and be a place in Bowling Green, Ky., that we can reach out to those who do not know who Jesus Christ," Weldon said.

This expansion is only phase one of construction that Holy Trinity will be undergoing. They hope to complete phase two in the next four or five years, which will consist of a new sanctuary and additional classrooms.
