A Louisville zoning board ruled that a pork plant can continue operating despite starting an expansion without a building permit.

Workers marched over the weekend to support the JBS Plant on Story Avenue that has some neighbors complaining about the smell and traffic noise.

The zoning board on Monday considered whether the violations were serious enough to revoke the plant's ability to operate altogether.

The Louisville Courier-Journal reported that the board voted 4 to 2 in favor with one abstention.
