April 14, 2007, is no day off for the murder trial of Mary Winkler, a Tennessee woman accused of killing her preacher husband.
Bank tellers testified Winkler had tried to deposit bad checks. Prosecutors said the Winklers' bank account at Regions Bank in Selmer, Tenn., was overdrawn by $5,000 and that bank employees called Winkler several times the day before her husband was killed.
Prosecutors also argued Winkler was caught up in a swindle she wanted to conceal from her husband.
