Thanksgiving is a time for families to come together, but it's also a great opportunity for communities to join forces and help each other out.
This Thanksgiving, the Salvation Army is hosting its annual dinner at the Center for Hope on West Main Street in Bowling Green from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.
It expects to feed between 300 to 700 residents, and will have meals to go since seating will be limited.
And the dinner is open to everyone.
"There's no application process for coming to eat," says Salvation Army Corps Officer, Maj. Edward Binnix.
"The community Thanksgiving dinner is just a matter of come on in and we'll feed you."
The organization says volunteers and donations are greatly needed.
Large gallon cans of fruit and vegetables, stuffing and drinks, and cash donations are needed, but the Army has plenty of turkey for the dinner.
For volunteer and donation information, you can call the Salvation Army at (270) 843-3485.
