Western Kentucky University police are investigating the death of a student found dead in his dorm room.
According to university officials, 19-year-old Jaron Kormelink of Clarksville, Tenn., apparently hanged himself in his Keen Hall dorm room. His body was discovered by a facilities management employee investigating a strange odor. The employee called Western Police around 2 p.m. on April 24, 2007.
Officials said Kormelink lived in the room alone. Foul play or the use of a weapon aren't believed to be involved.
Authorities are unsure of when the student died. His body is being sent to the medical examiner's office in Louisville, Ky., to determine the exact cause and time of death.
Kormelink is the second Western student to die on campus this school year.
