A Congressional panel has filed an urgent request for records related to the death of a Fort Campbell soldier.
Private Lavena Johnson was the first female soldier from Missouri to perish in Iraq.
U.S. Representative William Clay told Defense Department officials the records are needed to answer lingering questions about Johnson’s death.
Clay said the family has met with a “wall of disrespect, evasion and a failure to provide them with the answers that the parents of any fallen soldier deserve.”
Johnson’s parents have tried for two years to get information.
