Nature’s been rough on East Tennessee this April. In Claiborne County there have been two EF-1 tornadoes about a quarter mile apart and last night when Jewell Keck heard the roar, she headed for the bath tub.
Her husband was in the next room. They both came out from cover when they heard breaking glass and they were glad they weren’t on their couch.
“I come in here and the window, all the glass, was in the floor and the brick was laying right there on the couch,” Jewell Keck said.
The Kecks have lived in the Barren Creek Valley since 1952. Thid Keck said this is probably the most devastating event to happen here since the deadly Little Barren Creek Flood in the early 1900s.
