A Fort Campbell soldier has been killed in a traffic accident at Fort Campbell's gate 2.

According to a news release from the Clarksville police, 19-year-old Carolina Short was traveling northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard at about 5:30 a.m. CST Monday. As she tried to make a left turn into the base, the Mitsubishi Lancer she was driving was struck on the passenger side by a Jeep Laredo driven by 51-year-old Valerie Terry.

Twenty-year-old David Short, a Fort Campbell soldier, was a passenger in the Mistubishi. He died at the scene from his injuries.
