The cremated remains of actor James Doohan sailed into space Saturday morning aboard a rocket launched from the New Mexico desert.
Doohan portrayed Scotty the Engineer on "Star Trek".
His remains were one of 200 sets of ashes launched from Spaceport America, a commercial spaceport being developed in southern New Mexico.
Family members paid $495 dollars to put the remains aboard the flight.
Doohan passed away two years ago at age 85.
