Local law enforcement arrest a man wanted on drug charges after he tries to flee by foot.
Drug Task Force director, Tommy Loving said that around 9:30 p.m. on May 1, 2007, task force officers were running surveillance on 22-year-old Martez Mitchell.
Mitchell and three other people drove into the parking lot of Puerto Vallarta restaurant on 31-W. Loving said once Mitchell noticed the police car, his car took off down 31-W, turned on Cabell Street and ended up on Magnolia Drive.
Bowling Green Police and its K-9 unit along with the Kentucky State Police apprehended Mitchell after he fled the car on foot.
"Drug task force detectives have been attempting to locate him since September 2006. He's wanted for conspiracy to traffic cocaine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine," Loving said.
Loving also said after being treated at the Medical Center for dog bites Mitchell was transported to the Warren County Jail on federal indictments. Three men in the car with Mitchell have also been arrested on drug-related charges.
