A Monroe County judge refuses to grant a change of venue in the trial of a former Tompkinsville, Ky., teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.
Angela Comer was arrested in January 2006 after police said she ran off to Mexico with a 14-year-old student. Comer is accused of having a sexual relationship with the boy.
Comer's trial is scheduled to begin May 10, 2007, in Monroe circuit court. Judge Eddie Lovelace overruled a motion for a change of venue.
Last fall, Comer was ruled competent to stand trial.
