In Franklin, Ky., a pedestrian is dead after he was hit by a CSX train.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. on May 2, 2007. Kentucky State Police said 56-year-old Reathell Sorrells of Franklin was attempting to cross the railroad tracks as a CSX train was rolling southbound. When for an unknown reason Sorrells continued to walk across the tracks and was struck by the train.
Sorrells was taken to Franklin Medical Center where he later died. KSP said Sorrells attempted to cross the tracks in an open area and not at a designated crossing, and the horn and bell were activated on the train at the time of the accident.
