The state recommends a 15-year prison sentence for a Southern Kentucky woman who admitted to drowning her young son.
Eight-year-old Dylan Rambo was killed in August 2006, when his mother’s car plunged into Lake Cumberland. Wynema Worley and her six-year-old daughter escaped.
Worley entered a guilty plea on May 7, 2007, in Wayne Circuit Court to amended charges.
The charges were originally murder and criminal attempt to commit murder, but they were changed to manslaughter second degree and wanton endangerment.
The recommendation of 15 years is with out the possibility of parole.
In testimony at Worley’s preliminary hearing, a state police detective said Worley had consumed alcohol, smoked marijuana and taken an anti-depressant before running her car into the lake.
Final sentencing is set for June 19.
