Kansas’ governor is criticizing the government’s response to last week’s devastating tornado. She said the National Guard deployments to Iraq are slowing some of the response, but the White House is aggressively defending the government’s aide to tornado victims.
Press Secretary Tony Snow said Governor Kathleen Sebelius should have done a better job at following procedures to figure out what the state needed and then asked the federal government.
Snow went on to say the governor made no requests to the National Guard for heavy equipment.
President Bush is scheduled to tour the damage on May 8, 2007.
The number of dead from Friday’s devastating tornado has now reached ten.
