Supporters of Minor League Baseball in Bowling Green are closer than ever to getting that team after receiving a large financial gift.
Playball '05 held a press conference to make the big announcement. Entrepreneur David Garvin plans to donate $50,000. He says the money will go toward purchasing general admission tickets for everyone that lives on the west side of the railroad tracks.
Garvin says, "I wanted to do something for the team and bring this project forward, and I like to do something for over on my side of town or the other side of the tracks gang."
Last week, organizers announced they had sold more than 1350 season tickets for any future team. The goal is to sell 2000 by June 1.
