Dancers are preparing for a big evening as Dancing with Bowling Green's Own gets underway on May 15, 2007.

Professional dancers and Bowling Green stars have been practicing for weeks for tonight's competition. Dancers include our very own Gene Birk, Courtney Lassiter, Shane Holinde and Laura Rogers, along with WUHU's Brooke Summers, Adam Winter, Roxy and many more.

Ticket sales for tonight's charity dance competition will go to grant the wish of one Tennessee toddler.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation was created to give children with life-threatening illnesses a reason to smile and the foundation has a long history of making dreams come true for sick children like Tyler.

"He is very cute. He's full of life. You would never know he was sick," said Pam Ritter, a volunteer with the foundation.

Tyler has cancer and during one of Ritter's visits with him in Clarksville, Tenn., he asked to go to the beach.

"I'm not sure if they've ever been to the beach, but I think this is something that they wanted to do as a family and enjoy doing - plus he said he wanted to go swimming," Ritter said.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation will plan events around Tyler's wish to enable him a full beach experience.

Because of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Tyler and so many other sick children will have the memories to last a lifetime.
