A Hopkinsville man is in jail after police respond to a traffic accident in Elkton, Ky.

Kentucky State Police went to the crash on Kentucky 181on the night of May 16, 2007, and noticed the driver, 34-year-old James Castille walking towards Elkton.

Police said Castille starting acting nervous when they began questioning him.

Castille then took off on foot, dropping a handgun along the way. Police were able to arrest him and charge him on numerous counts, which including DUI, meth possession, drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He's lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
