Social services is expected to file neglect charges against a Barren County grandmother accused of doing drugs while she was in charge of her three grandchildren.
Forty-nine-year-old Melisa Ann Kessinger of Temple Hill was arrested May 24, 2007. The Barren County Sheriff's Department went to her home after receiving information that Kessinger was possibly under the influence of drugs.
Authorities found Kessinger's three grandchildren, ages 11, nine and three in a pool in the backyard unsupervised. Kessinger had needle track marks on both arms and meth was found in a baggie in the bathroom.
Kessinger was arrested and charged with posession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. Social services was called to return the children back to their parents in Owensboro, Ky.
Kessinger was already out of jail on bond for drug charges in Allen county.
