Members of one of the areas largest churches gather Living Hope at their new home for the first time to worship.
Although construction doesn't begin on the new facility for Living Hope Baptist Church until early next year, its congregation had service outdoors at the site on Lover's Lane.
Senior Pastor, Jason Pettus says not only is this the first service the church's had at its new location, but its also the first time they've only held a single Sunday morning service.
The church normally has five morning services with three at its church on Westen Avenue, and two at the Caroll Knicely Center.
"I was asking the some of the founders of our church when was the last time this happened and they couldn't recall, when there was a single service on a Sunday morning. So it's been a long time. It's been a long time overdue", says Pettus.
Pettus said he expected around 2,000 people at today's service.
He says the church will have several Sunday evening gatherings at the site during the summer as well.
