University Enrollment Increases at Austin Peay

Another university is experiencing an increase in enrollment because of the soldier’s home at Ft. Campbell.

Enrollment at Austin Peay State University is up 74 percent during its second spring semester, which runs from April to June.

Executive Director Gerald Beavers said the ebb and flow of military personnel taking classes is probably linked to deployment. Beavers went on to say the U.S. Army has a policy of pushing college education and the soldiers that won’t make the military a career are preparing for civilian life, but those who plan to stay in the Army are building points towards promotion.
