A new radio system is to be installed at the Bowling Green Police Department.
Bowling Green's ability to communicate in the event of an emergency is about to get stronger.
Congressman Ron Lewis presented a check to the Bowling Green Police Department on May 30, 2007, for more than $48,000.
The money is from a Department of Homeland Security program. It will be used to buy new radio equipment and allow police access to other law enforcement that use other types of radios.
The equipment is expected to be installed immediately. The radio system will be located at police headquarters.
