While most high school students are busy with homework, sports, and work, one student is adding school board meetings to her agenda. Recently, Rema Burden was appointed to the Ohio County Board of Education. The high school senior is the third student ever in Kentucky's history to be named to a school board.

Although she can't vote, she hopes her student-based opinion will make a difference. Burden will remain on the board until August. After that an election will be held, and two students will then be on the board next fall.
