The U.S. military has announced that another 14 soldiers have died in Iraq since June 1, 2007, bringing the total for the first three days of the month to 15.
Most of the casualties have been from roadside bombs. The latest deaths include four in a single bombing on June 3. They were killed while conducting a search operation northwest of Baghdad. Eight other bombings killed a total of nine soldiers and wounded several others.
According to an Associated Press, count at least 3,493 members of the U.S. military have died since the start of the Iraq war in March 2003.
