The building where a Virginia Tech student fatally shot 30 people before taking his own life, is re-opening this month.
University officials said Norris Hall will re-open its offices and laboratories, but it won’t be used for classes.
In April 2007 Seung-Hui Cho went on a shooting rampage in the building after killing two people in a dorm. Since then dozens of people have offered suggestions on what they think should happen to the building.
They range from making it a memorial, to knocking it down.
University President Charles Steger said after considering the viewpoints, he’s decided the best way to allow the College of Engineering to “continue to heal” is through the phased re-use of the building.
