Did you know you live near South Central Kentucky's largest water playground?
At the Russell Sims Aquatic Center there are many things to enjoy throughout a hot summer's day.
"I think their favorite thing is the slides."
"I like the diving board."
"I like the buckets."
"I like it because I can get out of the house and have fun with my kids. We can come one day and spend two hours then come the next day and spend all day long," explained Jennifer Wilkinson who has season pass. "Sometimes we're here for a treat and they get pizza and hot dogs and sometimes we pack a lunch and go out to the picnic tables and have a treat out there."
Wilkinson said her treat is the deep-end where adults can swim laps or jump off the diving board.
"It's much more for the adults and teenagers. They have more freedom - deeper water to have more fun," Lifeguard Marcus Korba explained.
Korba and several other lifeguards are always watching the pools to ensure safety and fun for kids like Wilkinson's.
"I think they're watched pretty well and all the lifeguards and all the other parents - it seems like all the other parents watch our kids," Wilkinson explained.
And even the lifeguards who are hard at work, have a good time.
"All the friends you make here it's a big family here with all the lifeguards and pool attendants," Korba said.
