A funeral service has been scheduled for Saturday for the doctor who was shot to death inside his Perry County clinic.

Coroner Jimmy Maggard said the funeral for Dennis Sandlin will be held Saturday at Maggard's Mountain View Chapel in Hazard with burial at York-Wooton Cemetery in Buckhorn.

Maggard said an autopsy has confirmed Sandlin died from a single gunshot wound to the head.

John Combs has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge in Sandlin's death and was jailed on $10 million bond.

Police say combs returned to Leatherwood Blackey Clinic with a gun Tuesday after he was denied pain pills earlier in the day.
