U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul of Bowling Green is moving forward after a staff member resigns because of racist images on a social networking sight.

Christopher Hightower resigned Thursday after racist images were allegedly found on his Myspace page.

The Ophthalmologist says he was saddened to hear of the racially charged images and spoke with Hightower before accepting the resignation.

"He says they don't represent him either and that other people posted them on his website. But I think we live in an era where you're responsible for what even other people post on your website," says Rand Paul, U.S. Senate Candidate.

Paul says despite never hearing racist remarks from Hightower he knew he would have to immediately and permanently distance himself from the staffer.

However Paul doesn't believe this incident will have a negative effect on his campaign.
