Weather wasn't an issue for shoppers here at home.
For the 18th year, Bowling Green firefighters team up with Community Action Head Start to help kids in need.
Each year the firefighters shop with around 50 area children for essentials, like clothes, and of course, lots of toys.
They say some of the kids are shy at first, but they're all excited to go shopping, including the firefighters.
"The firefighters love it," said Captain David McCarty of the Bowling Green Fire Department. "We bring our families out, and they help us out. My kids, for one, they look forward to it every year, taking the kids out and shopping with them."
Those with Community Action Head Start say they're thankful for the event and their relationship with the fire deparment.
The firefighters are grateful for the community's support of fundraisers that make the event possible.
