Flags are flying at half staff in remembrance of a popular small town Kentucky police chief.
State police said 37-year-old Jamie Barnett was being arrested for driving under the influence when Chief Randy Lacy was shot the morning of June 13, 2007. Barnett is charged with Lacy’s murder.
An autopsy was performed on Lacy on June 14. Powell County Coroner Carl Wells said Lacy was shot point-blank in the back of the head. He also said the murder weapon was fired once from the back seat, with the bullet passing through the barrier before striking Lacy.
