T-minus six hours until the clock officially strikes for Christmas Day 2009.

While many people will find themselves on the road this weekend, most won't be staying in a hotel.

Hampton Inn Sales Manager, Jenny Dargan expects less business this Christmas holiday than in past years.

She says high gas prices and the economy are the reasons that overall holiday travel is down.

However, Dargan says there will be people occupying the hotel on Christmas morning.

"We have a little bit more that are staying in-house who came here to Bowling Green than last year. But people that have actually been passing through to visit family members... travel is down," she notes.

Dargan says the hotel doesn't expect to see the number of occupants rise next week either for the new year's holiday.
